The embrace, built into the frame.

A rocking massage chair, designed like furniture

A rocking chair first.

Abbaraccio's signature is a full back-and-neck massage chair built to look like nothing but a very good rocking chair.

Abbraccio: Italian for "embrace." Sit down, and you'll feel why.

How it works

Dual-mechanism design

Nookrest runs two separate massage systems through the same chair: a mechanism built for the neck and shoulders, and a different one built for the back. Neither is a single motor just vibrating a pad.

Both mechanisms live inside the same seatback panel, stacked so the upper set of rollers handles the neck and shoulders while the lower set works the back independently.

01. Neck & shoulders

U-shape intelligent mechanism

A U-shaped mechanical hand kneads and rubs across the neck and shoulders — built to trace the same path a real hand would when working that area, not just press one fixed point.

02. Back

Thai-style back massage

The back mechanism is modeled on Thai massage: firm, rhythmic pressure worked along the back, rather than the flat buzz of a vibration pad.

Nookrest ships tuned to fixed-point massage, vibration, and five-speed control, keeping the control set simple rather than exposing every individual movement as its own mode. See the full list below.

How it actually reaches you

Nookrest runs the neck/shoulder and back mechanisms described above, plus a separate rubbing motion at the waist and its own vibration layer through the seat, reaching you from multiple points at once.

Everything the chair does

One chair, two purposes

Sits and rocks like a standard chair with the massage system off entirely.

Upgraded dual movements

Neck/shoulder and back mechanisms run independently or together.

Fixed-point massage

Target one spot instead of running the full track.

Constant-temperature heat

A steady hot compress layered on top of the massage.

Vibration massage

A third layer alongside the two roller mechanisms.

Five-speed adjustment

Dial intensity up or down independently of the mode.

Lightweight, nimble frame

Laminated birch construction, light enough to reposition by hand.

High-quality material selection

Craft

Built in layers

Every Abbraccio frame is laminated birch: thin layers of real wood, glued and bent into one continuous curve. It's the same bentwood method behind some of design history's most iconic chairs, and it holds its curve through years of rocking. We just gave it a reason to also work on your shoulders. The curve that carries the rock is the same one that closes around you the moment you sit down.
